At INGRECOS, we are committed to fostering a responsible and sustainable cosmetics industry. We collaborate with various organizations to develop sector-specific frameworks aimed at promoting high-quality cosmetic ingredients. These ingredients meet consumer expectations while adhering to the strictest standards in terms of safety and performance
Collaboration with Standardization Bodies
INGRECOS works closely with recognized standardization organizations to develop international standards.
INGRECOS is a member of the S91K Commission on Cosmetic Products, where it monitors existing, updated, and upcoming standards in areas such as microbiology, analytical methods, and sunscreen products. It also follows related topics through commissions on algae and nanomaterials.
INGRECOS actively contributes to the development of the ISO 16128 standard through the AFNOR GT4 working group and the ISO/TC217 WG4.
INGRECOS has been the leader of the GT4 Terminology Working Group since 2021.
Collaboration with EFfCI GMP Certification
Since 2005, the European Federation for Cosmetic Ingredients (EFfCI) has established a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) framework specifically for cosmetic ingredients.
The EFfCI organizes GMP training sessions for both member and non-member companies. Manufacturers of raw materials for cosmetics and related products can choose to demonstrate compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices through EFfCI GMP certification. This certification ensures high safety and quality standards for raw materials.
The EFfCI-GMP framework is based on ISO 9001 standards.
Certification is valid for three years, subject to an annual audit.

Collaboration with Certification Bodies and Labels
We keep our members informed about the various certifications and labels available, helping them understand the nuances and practical applications of each.
INGRECOS organizes webinars to facilitate understanding of these frameworks, such as the EU Ecolabel and NATRUE.
The association actively participates in updating the criteria required for certified cosmetic ingredients (e.g., COSMOS).
INGRECOS and EFfCI engage with various relevant labels impacting cosmetic ingredients, including Cruelty-Free and Vegan Society.
Through active monitoring, the association stays at the forefront of emerging certifications.
